There's a nice contrast in one way between the ultra-modern sleek-looking trams and the very old architecture between Aksaray and Eminönü stations. Along this particular stretch of line there are a number of historic places to visit including the Grand Bazaar, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace and the new Mosque. Even the main railway station - Istanbul Gar - has some interesting features worth seeing.
