The works of art were found during archeological unearthings in the antiquated city of Laodicea in the western region of Denizli.

One of the works of art, a swoon cutting into a stone divider, has been named "old Pinocchio."

"There is a man with a long nose in the principal painting. The subsequent one has a Roman bust and the last one shows a minister.

The since quite a while ago nosed man in the principal painting looks like Pinocchio," Celal Şimşek, the leader of the unearthings, stated, alluding to the character of the fantasy where a manikin acquires the privilege to turn into a genuine kid by demonstrating his honesty. What's more, every time he lies his nose develops longer.

Şimşek said the artistic creation speaks to day by day life of individuals in the fourth century.

"We can consider this since quite a while ago nosed man as Pinocchio of the old ages. Untruths and realities are ideas which have risen after some time. This man could have been stepped to delineate liars back in the days," he said.

Laodicea, enrolled in the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List, holds one of the seven houses of worship referenced in the Bible.

Laodicea, the biggest old city of Anatolia after Ephesus, has numerous authentic relics and structures. Unearthings here have been progressing since 2003.
